Former player of the Ukrainian national team Ivan Hetzko shared what he expects from the friendly match Ukraine — New Zealand, which will take place on the night of June 10 to June 11.
Ivan Hetzko— What should the Ukrainian national team players do in the match against the New Zealanders?
— Win — this is first and foremost. Secondly, prove that the loss in the match against Canada was a huge mistake. The main thing is that today’s game should not have the same underestimation of the opponent that they allowed three days ago. And then everything will be fine.
— In that case, will everything fall into place?
— I think so. At least, judging by our game against Canada, the alarm was serious.
— Will the result of that alarm affect the psychology of the Ukrainian footballers before today’s game?
— I believe the opposite. Perhaps it will put some players in their place, otherwise they have started to fly too high.
— How do you think, in order to have the opportunity to rehabilitate, will Sergey Rebrov use the same lineup that played against Canada, or will he make certain adjustments?
— I think there will be one or two adjustments.
— In which positions?
— In the central part of the field — definitely. And maybe in the back line.
