Former player of the Ukrainian national team Sergiy Zadorozhny shared his impressions of the confrontation between the Ukrainian national team and the New Zealanders (2:1).

It is possible that the wave of criticism following the fiasco against the Canadians affected the players; perhaps the rotation worked in their favor and the ambitious substitutes did not let down. This time, there was the necessary mindset, focus on attack and the victory over the New Zealanders should be recognized as well-deserved.
In my opinion, the tournament in Canada was useful, as it once again demonstrated that moving on the field cautiously, as against the hosts, passing in the midfield, means victory can be forgotten. Because modern football is about intensity, when everyone is in the game, working hard both in attack and immediately upon losing the ball. If there is balance in actions, when each player is ready to give their all, only then can one be in the spotlight. Under other circumstances, failure is unavoidable, as was the case in the match against the Canadians in Toronto. One must always remain a professional, — Zadorozhny said.
