The vast majority of first league clubs support the option of holding the 2025/2026 tournament in a format of 16 teams in two rounds without division into groups.
Let us remind you that the plans to return to the classical format were previously mentioned by the head of the Professional Football League of Ukraine, Oleksandr Kadenko. This option is the main one for the league. It is expected that with the support of the vast majority of clubs, this format will be approved at the nearest conference.
Let us remind you that starting from the 2022/2023 season, the teams in the first league are divided into two groups. According to the results of the autumn part of the season, the best teams move to the promotion group, while the remaining participants hold a tournament to retain their place in the first league.
