Napoli head coach Antonio Conte stated that he had not held any negotiations behind the back of the president of the “Partenopei”, Aurelio De Laurentiis.

“I am upset that a month before the end of the season there were talks about my move to “Juventus”, and it was hinted that I could leave “Napoli”. I had no agreements with “Juventus”. To everyone who tried to reach out to me, I said: “I will not talk to anyone until I speak with president De Laurentiis”.
For me, “Juventus” has been and always will be “Juventus”, just like “Lecce”. No one will ever be able to undermine my feelings for my own history and the place where I grew up. Even this year, at the presentation of “Napoli”, people started asking me to jump and chant: “Who doesn’t jump is a Juventus fan”. I stopped them and said: “You cannot demand from me to do something I will never do”. The same applies when I eventually leave “Napoli”. It’s about respect,” said Conte in an interview with Sky Sport Italia.
