FIFA will allow foreign footballers to leave clubs in the Israeli championship without compensation, ONE.co.il reports.
The reason for this move is the armed conflict between Israel and Iran.
A similar mechanism was already used by FIFA in 2022 - then, due to the full-scale war of Russia against Ukraine, foreigners from Ukrainian clubs were allowed to terminate contracts early without penalties.
According to Transfermarkt, there are 95 legionnaires in the Israeli Premier League clubs, and it is they who can take advantage of the new relaxations from FIFA.
