The defender of the Ukrainian youth national team commented on the team’s defeat in the match of the 3rd round of Euro-2025 against the Netherlands.
Arseniy Batagov“A very good opponent. We tried to play on the counter. In the first 30 minutes, we succeeded, we broke into attacks. We didn’t finish them with shots, but there were some preconditions. Then I made a mistake, we conceded a goal. We could still have turned this game around, because we had quite a few chances — in the first half, in the second. We adhered to our game plan, created some moments, but the opponent of high class managed to capitalize.
Not advancing from the group is very bad for us. We wanted to compete further in this tournament. There should have been a win in the first match, we let it go. At some point, it affected us that towards the end we tired, we ran out of strength. And in the third game, we didn’t draw," said Batagov.
