The head coach of Napoli, Antonio Conte, shared how he reacted to the request of Chelsea captain John Terry to ease the intensity of training when the Italian was working at Stamford Bridge.

I agreed, mainly out of respect for their culture, their different approach to football. When you are in another country, you have to be careful not to cause too much disruption. We lost two games in a row, and I was at risk of being fired.
Since then, I always think that if I have to ‘die’ as a result of the choice made, I have to do it my way, not in the hands of others. That is the way. “Trust the process,” as they say in England. And when I remember how tough the training was, I smile. Zidane and Del Piero trained much harder. Today we do about a third of what we used to do. The work must be related to results on the field. I coached teams where, after a while, the players themselves started recognizing dangerous situations. For me, that means we achieved the right result,” Conte is quoted by Corriere della Sera.
