At the regular conference of the Professional Football League of Ukraine, in particular, the issues regarding membership in the PFL and the outlines of the new season in the second league were discussed.
Thus, the membership in the PFL of "Balkany", "Karpaty" (Halych), "Zvyagel" has been terminated. Therefore, 23 teams will participate in the second league of the 2025/2026 season.
Group "A": "Bukovyna-2", "Vylkhivtsi", "Kulykiv-Bilka", "Polissia-2", "Real Pharma", "Nyva", "Sambir-Nyva-2", "Skala 1911", "Uzhhorod", "Lisne", "Athlete".
Group "B": "Hirnyk-Sport", "DInaz", "Kolos-2", "Livyi Bereh-2", "Lokomotyv", "Metallurg", "Oleksandriia-2", "Penuel", "Trostiannets", "Chaika", "Chornomorets-2", "Rebel".
The championship will be held in three rounds. Direct promotion to the first league is provided for the group winners. Playoff matches are planned between the teams that finish second in group "A" and group "B", and the teams that finish 13th and 14th in the first league.
The base day of the starting tour is July 26.
Attention should be paid to the increase in the number of participants, which represent second club teams. This refers to "Bukovyna-2", "Livyi Bereh-2" and "Chornomorets-2".
In group "A", the chances of promotion are highly valued for "Skala 1911" and "Kulykiv-Bilka", led by the former coach of "Karpaty" Serhiy Atlasjuk, with former national team player Vasyl Kardash serving as sports director.
One should not underestimate the teams that played among amateurs last season, especially "Lisne", where well-known former footballers of Kyiv "Dynamo" Denys Harmash and Serhiy Rybalka play leading roles. The debutants should take a cue from "Proboy", which, having earned the right to play in the second league, immediately made it to the first.
