The former forward of Kyiv’s Dynamo Viktor Leonenko said who he considers the best Ukrainian footballer in history.
Viktor Leonenko«For me, the number 1 forward is Blokhin, and Bezusonov is number 1 as a universal player - he gave assists, defended, and scored. So, I have two bests.
I am not worse than Blokhin, Shevchenko, Rebrov, but Oleg is the best because he is the first in everything. Blokhin is like Gagarin, only in football,» said Leonenko.
The outstanding coach Yozhef Sabo recently rated Andriy Shevchenko higher than Blokhin. Here’s what Leonenko thinks about it: «Sheva is a talented, but lucky guy. He scored many goals that he didn’t even suspect. Blokhin is the best scorer in the history of the USSR, and the Union championship was stronger than Serie A, where Sheva played. Sabo probably forgot about that.»
