Journalist and serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andriy Senkiv spoke about his interaction with FC “Obolon”.
Andriy Senkiv— The PR specialist of “Shakhtar” Oleg Barkov and others praise you a lot for how you interact with clubs. How did you find your approach to them?
— The most important thing they need is specificity. For example, we needed a strike drone “Kazhan”. It costs more than a million hryvnias. I approach four clubs and say: “I need such an amount from you. The money goes to “Come Back Alive” with a note for “Kazhan” for the 53rd OSB. Will you join or not?”. Everything is very clear.
I worked with “Obolon”. The club bought us three night mavics. They became super expensive because China stopped producing them. I made an official request - I have full carte blanche for procurement and documents. This means I make an official appeal, and then I officially accept it on balance. Of course, everything happens with the knowledge of the battalion commander.
So, I agreed with “Obolon” for three mavics, but they say there are none on the market. I start searching and find them in a store that operates officially through transfers. That is, everything is as it should be. It’s not that you bought some used mavic on the market that might not even work. The club buys these mavics through its fund, they are transferred to us and everything is okay.
Others say: “We have no fund, we don’t know how to do this”. I offer options with different funds. I come up with the most effective way to interact with each client. There is a donor who trusts only the “Sergiy Pritula Foundation”. For me, this is not a problem, I then communicate with them. This is how I do all this.
Sometimes funds buy us something themselves. The Dignitas fund delivered a mobile bath. I write long texts that we are poor, barefoot and have nowhere to wash. We really had a problem with this in winter. So, you are looking for your approach for each client and providing your proposals.
Now I have a request for pickups. I think I will also contact three clubs so that each buys one pickup. They will arrive beautifully, we will brand them under the clubs. You know, war is war, but everyone loves PR. And we are focused on the result.
