In three weeks, specifically on July 24, "Polissya" will start in the second qualifying round of the Conference League. Ruslan Rotan’s team will meet the winner of the pair "Santa Coloma" (Andorra) — "Borac" (Bosnia and Herzegovina) at this stage of the tournament. The captain of Zhytomyr, Ruslan Babenko, talked about the prospects of "Polissya" in this tournament.
“As for ‘Santa Coloma’ from Andorra, it’s hard for me to say anything right now, but the Bosnian ‘Borac’ is a serious opponent. It’s enough to say that this team reached the Round of 16 in the last iteration of this tournament. And that says a lot.
I am sometimes amazed when they say that ‘Polissya’ should have no problems reaching the group stage of the competition. Experience is an important factor that we lack. But at the same time, the team will do everything to go as far as possible in this tournament,” Babenko said.
Let us remind you that last season "Polissya" was eliminated in the second qualifying round of the Conference League, losing on aggregate to Slovenian "Olympia" (1:4).
