The general director of Kyiv’s “Obolon”, Oleksandr Riznychенко, commented on the decision of the club to provide its home stadium, “Obolon-Arena”, for the home matches of the UPL debutant “Kudrivka” in the Ukrainian championship for the 2025/26 season.
Oleksandr Riznychенко“How can I tell you why we allowed it? Our regulations allow that teams can rise to the UPL based on sporting principles without having any infrastructure. They are allowed to play in the UPL.
So we understand, considering that we are in wartime, that we need to help each other. A decision was made to share this stadium.
Unfortunately, in our country, many stadiums are being shared. The same “Polissya” is sharing with “Metalist”, because it has nowhere to play. The same “Shakhtar” is sharing “Arena Lviv” with “Rukh” in Lviv.
How can we refuse people the opportunity to play football? Moreover, “Kudrivka” earned its place in the UPL through playoff matches here,” said Riznychенко.
