English “Liverpool” has decided to pay the full amount of the contract of Portuguese striker Diogo Jota to his family after the footballer tragically died at the age of 28 in a car accident in Spain.
Jota had a valid contract with “Liverpool” until 2026, signed in 2022. He passed away just two weeks after marrying his long-time partner Rute Cardoso, with whom he raised three children. The club expressed condolences to the family and promised full financial support.
The farewell ceremony for Jota and his brother took place yesterday in the players’ hometown of Gondomar, near Porto. The burial will take place today.
