Munich's Bayern exited the Club World Cup, losing to PSG in the quarter-finals.
A horrible incident occurred before the break. Bayern midfielder Jamal Musiala was injured after Parisian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma flew into his legs. Musiala could not leave the field on his own. He was carried off on a stretcher.
Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer criticized Donnarumma for his actions:
“It was a situation where it wasn’t necessary to enter like that! It’s too risky. He basically accepts the possibility of injuring his opponent. I went up to him and said: ‘Don’t you want to go to our player?’ Out of respect, you should do this — go over, wish the guy all the best. Later he did do that. But there should always be fair play. I would have acted differently,” quoted Neuer by Sky Sport.
