Owner of Vorskla Konstantin Zhevago, who is under Ukrainian sanctions, spoke about what awaits the Poltava club next.
Konstantin Zhevago"Unfortunately, the results of the season have become a real challenge for both the players and the coaching staff, the club management, the fans of Poltava region, our partners, and for me personally. We were unable to maintain our presence in the Ukrainian Premier League, losing in the relegation matches. This happened for the first time since 1996 and, without a doubt, caused a wide resonance in the football community.
And this is an absolutely unacceptable result for the club team and for me personally, considering the achievements and successes of the club over the last at least 20 years. It is time to analyze the situation, to find the reasons, but we all know - the stronger wins, two teams go on the field, each of which dreams and must do everything to win. If your loss is on the scoreboard, it means not everything was done or there are reasons that prevented it. It is precisely by analyzing these reasons that we are engaged during the off-season.
We have officially started preparations for participation in the First League of PFL for the 2025-2026 season. Our strategic goal is to return to the elite of Ukrainian football, the Premier League, already by the results of this season. This is an ambitious and difficult task, as many teams plan to fight for promotion to the UPL. But this set task is absolutely realistic, even in conditions related to the martial law in the country and the internal state of all those who are not indifferent to "Vorskla": players, coaches, fans, club leaders, and its owners. There is currently a deep analysis of the club’s activities in the last season and in previous years. A number of personnel and organizational decisions will be made soon and responsible persons for key areas will be announced.
We are initiating a full financial audit of all revenues and expenses for previous periods. This is a necessary and important step during any transformative periods that will give us complete financial transparency and further stability. We strive to promptly settle current creditor requirements and continue to work even more efficiently,” Zhevago is quoted as saying by the official website of Vorskla.
