This week, the draw for the Champions League season 2025/26 begins. Following the results of the 1st qualifying round of the tournament, the opponent of Kyiv's Dynamo in the second qualifying round will be determined: it will be the winner of the pair Zalgiris (Lithuania) — Hamrun Spartans (Malta).
At the same time, there is practically no doubt in the Ukrainian football community that the "white-blues" will face the Lithuanian team, but bookmakers are much more cautious in their assessments.
Yes, they consider Zalgiris the favorite in the two-match confrontation with Hamrun Spartans, but the bets on their advancement to the next round are accepted with a rather high coefficient of 1.85 for a clear favorite. At the same time, the odds for the overall success of the Maltese is only slightly higher — 2.02.
The first match in this pair will take place tomorrow, July 9, in Vilnius. The odds for Zalgiris to win are 1.91, for Hamrun Spartans to win are 4.80, and for a draw — 3.41.
The second leg will be held on July 15 in Malta.
Let us remind you that Dynamo will play its first match in the 2nd qualifying round of the Champions League on July 22 on the opponent's field, while the return match will take place on July 29 in Lublin, Poland, which will nominally be home for the Kyivans in the upcoming European cup season.
