Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan submitted a joint bid to FIFA to host the youth (U-20) World Cup in 2027, as reported on the official website of the Football Association of Uzbekistan.
“In recent years, due to the reforms in the field of football carried out in Turkic-speaking countries, the created conditions and the authority on the international stage, the football associations of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan have put forward their joint candidature, expressing confidence in hosting the youth world championship at a high level.
Today, along with Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan is ready to host the prestigious tournament. Our country, as always, is ready to attract the attention of the whole world with its hospitality, professional approach, dedication to football, and, of course, the love of football fans,” the statement from the Football Association of Uzbekistan said.
