The head coach of the possible first opponent of Dynamo in the Champions League qualification — the Lithuanian “Žalgiris” — Volodymyr Cheburin talked to journalists about the team’s preparation for the first match in the European cup — against the Maltese “Hamrun”, which will take place today at the LFF stadium in Vilnius.
Volodymyr Cheburin— What distinguishes us from the opponents is that they are just starting their season. Each team has its own information, based on which it prepares a game plan and sets priorities. The opponent has undergone significant renewal of the squad. We are ready for this match. The players are prepared, except for those who have suffered serious injuries. We are preparing several options, and we will decide on the field which one to rely on. We will better understand the opponent during the game.
I do not think that conclusions about the entire season can be drawn solely based on the outcomes of two matches. There are many more matches ahead. We are ready to go as far as possible. And, I believe, there is no pressure at all — we come out with the mindset for victory. And when you have such a mood, there should be no pressure on any player, — said Cheburin.
Let us remind you that the winner of the duel between the Lithuanians and the Maltese club on July 22 and 29 will play in the 2nd qualifying round against Kyiv’s “Dynamo”. The first game will be at the field of the winner of this pair, the second — in Lublin.
