38-year-old Croatian Luka Modric emotionally said goodbye to Madrid’s “Real”, for which he played 597 matches.

The club gave me everything I have in football, and I will always remain a Madridista. I particularly remember the moment in Lisbon — the victory in “La Decima” in 2014. That was when the dominance began, which lasted over a decade,” Modric wrote in his farewell address.
The Croatian also specifically mentioned president Florentino Pérez, who, with tears in his eyes, bade farewell to the midfielder after the final whistle. “He treated me differently, and I always appreciated that,” emphasized Modric.
