The central defender of “Dynamo” Cristian Bilovar commented on the confident victory in the nominal home match against the Maltese “Hamrun Spartans” with a score of 3:0 (6:0 on aggregate):
Cristian Bilovar
— It’s always nice to play “to nil” in defense — this is the result of the work of the entire team and the coaching staff, not just the defensive players. I congratulate us all on this.
— This was the first nominal home match for “Dynamo”. Despite the fact that it took place in Polish Lublin, did you feel the support of the stands compared to the first match in Malta?
— Of course, we felt it, but I would note that when we played away against “Hamrun Spartans”, there were also quite a few fans from Ukraine in Malta who supported us very well. Although in Lublin we feel at home, all our thoughts are about returning to Ukraine and playing European Cup matches at home.
— It seemed that in the return match “Dynamo” showed better speed, what is that related to?
— After the training camp, we played only two matches; I believe with each subsequent game we are getting more into the rhythm of the season, and I hope we will act at a faster pace.
— Tell us about your scored goal and why it was disallowed?
— I didn’t really celebrate because I couldn’t believe I finally scored. Only God knows; it wasn’t meant to be, probably; it’s just not my time yet. I hope I can score later. It could have been my debut goal, but it didn’t happen, so I will have to wait for later.
— Ahead is the start of the Ukrainian championship with a match against “Veres”. How ready is the team? Will it be difficult to play in two days on the third, considering frequent travels?
— Of course, it’s not easy, but we have no other choice; we prepare for each game, for each opponent. We have a large squad, and today there was a rotation in positions, many substitutions. I believe we have everything to be able to play calmly in two days on the third.
— Does it matter to you whom you play against in the next round of the Champions League qualifiers — “Maccabi” or “Paphos”?
— It seems to me it doesn’t. Both opponents are quality teams that play in the Champions League qualifiers just like us, so we will need to prepare seriously for either of these teams.
