President of "Poltava" Serhiy Ivashchenko reported that the Poltava club may start the construction of a stadium and a training base this year.
Serhiy Ivashchenko“The club will develop step by step. We have plans regarding our football structure — to build our own stadium and base. Steps have been taken for this, but the war does not allow us to move significantly faster than we could. But little by little everything is progressing.
Currently, project documentation for the stadium and base is being developed. There is territory, there is land — before the [large] war, we purchased the former motorcycle stadium “Vympel” in Poltava, but the local authorities did not sign a lease agreement for this land for various reasons for a long time. We couldn’t move forward and were actually stalled on this issue until 2024. But we have already received urban planning conditions.
When do we plan to start construction? If everything goes well, we might start something this year. We are moving so quickly that the infrastructure is just not keeping up with us, but we will be bringing it along,” said Ivashchenko.
