Russians received 10.8 million euros from UEFA over the last 3 years. This is the so-called “solidarity payments” for the development of football and support for clubs that cannot participate in European competitions; in the case of Russia, due to its own armed aggression, reports the Telegram channel “Bomber” referring to The Guardian.

3.3 million euros for the 2022/23 season;
3.3 million euros for the 2023/24 season;
4.2 million euros for the 2024/25 season;
And before that, in the 2021/22 season – 6.2 million euros!
A similar principle as with the automatic allocation of 4.333 points to Russia in the coefficient table for each season – all for the sake of “maintaining competitive balance”.
At the same time, Ukrainian clubs, which are directly suffering from the RF’s attack, still cannot receive solidarity payments for the last 2 years. In particular, 5 clubs (“Chornomorets”, “Phoenix-Mariupol”, “Metalist-1925”, “Real-Farma” and “Metallurg” Zaporizhzhia) have already sent a corresponding complaint letter to UEFA.
The organization cited “some absolutely incomprehensible requirements from the bank in Switzerland, supposedly concerning the geographical location of football clubs in the combat zone” as an obstacle to the above-mentioned payments.
As The Guardian emphasizes, UEFA could have already even returned Russian teams to its competitions, but the categorical position of at least 12 associations did not allow this to happen.
