The captain and midfielder of Lviv’s “Rukh,” Denis Pidugrsky, commented on his team’s defeat against Kyiv’s “Dynamo” (1:5) in yesterday’s match of the second round of the Ukrainian championship.
Denis Pidugrsky“We were broken by the second goal conceded right after the break. After that, everyone started to act individually, and because of that, the Dynamo players began to dominate thanks to their teamwork.
The most unpleasant thing is that we were conceding very easily, moreover, we brought several goals upon ourselves. The opponent did not forgive mistakes.
This collapse can only be explained by psychology: excessive nervousness and the desire to minimize mistakes played a cruel trick on us. I can’t even remember the last time ‘Rukh’ was this helpless.
There were quite a few fans at the match, and we felt their support. Taking this opportunity, I want to apologize on behalf of the team to our fans. Ahead is a meticulous analysis of the match, I hope the right conclusions will be drawn and we will do everything to ensure there are no more such failures,” — said Pidugrsky.
