The Ukrainian Premier League summarized the results of the 2nd round of the Ukrainian Championship for the 2025/2026 season, the matches of which took place last weekend.
Team of the 2nd round of the UPLThe determination of the best traditionally took place through a survey of representatives of Ukrainian sports publications. Each of the respondents named a trio of candidates for the title of coach of the round, a quintet of candidates for the title of player of the round, as well as formed their own version of the symbolic team of the round.
The best coach of the 2nd round was collectively recognized by a group of 33 experts as Vladislav Lupashko, who drew against Shakhtar with Karpaty in a spectacular match (3:3). With a minimal advantage, Lupashko surpassed Ruslan Kostyshyn in the ranking (Koloss defeated Polissya away — 1:0). Patrick van Leeuwen also made it into the top-3: he won with Kryvbas against his former club — Metalist 1925 (2:0).
The title of the best player of the 2nd round was awarded to Venezuelan left winger Gleiker Mendoza, the hero of the Kryvbas vs. Metalist 1925 match (he had one goal and one assist). The top-5 ranking also included Karpaty striker Ihor Krasnopir, Obolon right wingback Serhiy Sukhanov, LNZ central midfielder Mukharrem Yashari, and Poltava central defender Oleg Veremienko.
The team of the 2nd round looked as follows: Kemkin (Kryvbas), Sukhanov (Obolon), Veremienko (Poltava), Mikhavko (Dynamo), Vivcharenko (Dynamo), Allisson (Shakhtar), Buialsky (Dynamo), Yashari (LNZ), Salenko (Zorya), Mendoza (Kryvbas), Krasnopir (Karpaty).
