Ukrainian newcomer to French PSG, defender Ilya Zabarni, did not make the team’s roster for yesterday’s UEFA Super Cup match against London’s Tottenham (2:2, penalties — 4:3), as he officially became a player of the Paris club only the day before, but he did not leave empty-handed and lifted the trophy above his head.
It all started when, after the awards ceremony, PSG captain Marquinhos handed his medal to the Ukrainian, and this was captured on video. Then, Zabarni’s teammates passed him the UEFA Super Cup, and he raised the trophy above his head.
Additionally, Zabarni’s debut for PSG may take place this Sunday, July 17, when the Parisians will play away against Nantes in the first round of the 2025/26 French Championship.
