Former midfielder of “Chornomorets” Artyr Avagimyan, who currently plays for LNZ, reported that his friend Slava Tolchin stole 11 thousand euros from him.
Artyr Avagimyan“This is a story I remained silent about for a long time, thinking I could resolve everything in a human way. But no. No one answers my calls.
Let me tell you: when I was playing for “Chornomorets,” I went to a training camp in Turkey. My car was parked at the base, and it needed to be taken to a service station. I asked my “close friend” at that time — we literally spent time together every day, so I trusted him.
There were 11 thousand euros in the car. I warned him about it, to which he replied: “Let me take them home for safety.” I said “okay,” without any suspicion, as I knew his whole family, attended his birthdays, and was at his home when he was sick — his mother gave me medicine. Overall, I trusted him.
This family is from Donetsk. Their grandfather, Stanislav Tolchin, was a politician in the Party of Regions. The family doesn’t have money problems, but they are used to stealing. I myself am from Mariupol in the Donetsk region, we were very close, after all — we are from the same place.
When I returned from Turkey, we met up and went to his home. His mother, as usual, was in a state of alcohol intoxication. When he knocked on the door, she told him: “Go f### yourself.” He replied: “Mom, Artyr came for the money.” She said: “Let him go f### himself too” — and closed the door. I thought maybe she was drunk, I don’t know...
Later, his mother told me: “Prove that this is your money.” I went to the police — zero. I went to the SBU (Security Service of Ukraine) — zero. Slava Tolchin himself was always in touch, tried to work and give something back, but lately he stopped contacting me.
I am a very good person, so I do not want to do harm to anyone, I always try to act humanely. But this is already beyond normal.
Today I am writing a statement to the Odessa court and hope that justice will prevail. I do not want any problems or fuss, I just want to get my money back, which they are refusing to return to me,” Avagimyan wrote on his Instagram page.
