Ukrainian coach of “Turan” Oleksandr Poklonsky told what attracts Ukrainian football players to the Kyrgyzstan Championship:
“Recently, Kyrgyzstan has seriously focused on infrastructure. Bases, fields, and stadiums are being built. For example, Muras United is constructing an arena for 50,000 spectators. All conditions for youth football are provided. The local players themselves are not of very high level, but thanks to the legionnaires, including Ukrainians, things are progressing (smiles). Sergey Puchkov, who worked with me on this team, drew my attention to this championship. He is now the head coach of the team. The only thing that hinders development is the Asian mentality.
In “Muras United”, Ukrainians mainly made the weather. My entire defense consisted of domestic players. We had some decent Kyrgyz players, but Ukrainian defenders have always been known for their reliability,” said Poklonsky.
