The head coach of Manchester City, Josep Guardiola, commented on the appointment of Bernardo Silva as the team captain for this season.
Bernardo Silva, Getty Images"I chose him for one reason — last season, when we had big, big problems, he was always there. He was always there, training every day… incredibly exhausted. At one point, we only had 13/14 players plus academy graduates, and every three days we were losing a game — and he was always there.
He played in the left-back position, right-back, winger, defensive midfielder. No matter what position — he always thought about what was best for the team. With all his qualities, I said that he would be a good captain. And he was really, really a good captain," Guardiola quoted by Sky Sports.
