The reporting and electoral conference of the Association of Veterans of Football of Ukraine was held at the Football House in the capital, where the president and members of other governing bodies were elected for a four-year term.
Photo: UAFWith a vast majority of votes, the conference delegates elected Oleg Sobutsky as the head of the AVFU. Andriy Biba became the first vice president, while the positions of vice presidents were taken by Myron Markevych, Volodymyr Muntyan, Serhiy Nagornyak, Petro Chiliby, Eduard Tsykhmeistruk, Volodymyr Yezersky, and Andriy Donets.
The updated composition of the executive committee includes: Oleg Sobutsky, Andriy Biba, Myron Markevych, Volodymyr Muntyan, Serhiy Nagornyak, Petro Chiliby, Eduard Tsykhmeistruk, Volodymyr Yezersky, Andriy Donets, Dmytro Shapoval, Oleg Shelaev, Oleksandr Kosyrin, and Vitaliy Samoylov. Eduard Tsykhmeistruk was elected the head coach of the national veteran team of Ukraine, and Dmytro Shapoval was appointed the executive director of the AVFU.
Before the event, a football match took place between the national veteran team of Ukraine and the SSO Armed Forces team. The friendly game, in which stars of domestic football from the last few decades faced off against the victorious special forces, ended in a win for the latter — 4:2!
Andriy Shevchenko, the president of the Ukrainian Football Association, was present at the conference. In his welcoming speech, he thanked Oleg Sobutsky and the entire AVFU team for their work, particularly noting the scale of the nationwide and worldwide tour of the team to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the organization of nationwide championships among veterans.
