The press service of Shakhtar responded to a request from Tribuna.com about the legal measures the club has taken regarding former midfielder Alexander Rostputko, who became a player for Chaika Peschanokopskoye in the second division of Russia.

Alexander Rostputko

Regarding the former player Rostputko, FC Shakhtar has taken a number of legal measures:

- immediately terminated the contract with the footballer;

- filed a lawsuit with the UAF Dispute Resolution Chamber against the footballer, demanding compensation for early termination of the contract, which was partially satisfied by the Chamber;

- appealed to the UAF Ethics and Fair Play Committee with a statement about a possible violation of the UAF Code of Ethics by the footballer in connection with the possible acquisition of Russian citizenship and the application of sanctions, including disqualification, provided for by the Code.

Reminder: the PFL website indicates that the footballer holds Russian citizenship.

In October 2023, Rostputko went into hiding after an away match of Shakhtar U-19 against Antwerp. In that same month, he moved to Russia, and the miners terminated his contract.
