Benfica head coach Bruno Lage, speaking with journalists ahead of the second leg of the Champions League qualifying playoff against Fenerbahce, discussed the situation with goalkeepers in the Lisbon team.
“I treat goalkeeper Soares the same way I treat any other player on our team. He is demonstrating football of a very high level, and we continue the work we have been doing with him. I can say that Trubin will play against Fenerbahce, and Soares will play when needed. We are very confident in our goalkeepers,” Lage was quoted by Maisfutebol.
It should be added that in the last round of the Portuguese championship match against Tondela (3:0), Soares played all 90 minutes in goal for Benfica.
The match Benfica - Fenerbahce will take place on Wednesday, August 27, in Lisbon. The kickoff is at 22:00 Kyiv time.
