The head coach of the German national team, Julian Nagelsmann, spoke about why he did not include the Galatasaray winger Leroy Sané in the squad for the World Cup 2026 qualifying matches.

“He plays in a league that is slightly worse than the Bundesliga. He needs to stand out more. I am not expecting miracles, but a certain percentage. He has to prove his ability, score goals, and make assists,” Nagelsmann is quoted by Sueddeutsche Zeitung.
