— You know, everything is very important. We understand perfectly that there are no small details in football. In many cases, the result depends precisely on the preparation.
After a difficult logistics route and the game against Maccabi, I gave my players a full rest. This was necessary, as the last period was very intense and challenging, and the team needed a reset. Therefore, the main factor was the mood for the game.
The reaction after conceding a goal was also important — calmness and confidence in actions. We prepared well, the tactics we planned worked. However, any tactics are implemented by the performers on the field, so there were mistakes. Overall, I am satisfied with the actions of the team.
— Voloshyn was the best. Is it because of his call-up to the national team?
— Perhaps it’s better to ask him. But I think he deserved a place in the starting lineup, and that inspires him. I’m happy for him.
— Four shots in the first half — three goals. Is this perfect implementation or just a bit of luck?
— I always tell the players: to score, you need to shoot at the goal. Sometimes they want to wait for the perfect moment, and that doesn’t happen. Sometimes almost everything goes in, but we continuously work on improvement.
It’s a pity that Mykhailenko got injured, we had to make a forced substitution. He felt discomfort in the back of his thigh, and to avoid serious consequences, we replaced him immediately. More details can be provided tomorrow.
— What about Popov and Tymchyk?
— I hope that the break for the national team matches will give us time. Popov will recover in about two weeks, Tymchyk — a little less. We also expect the return of Rubchynskyi and Torres.
— August was very intense. What will you focus on during the break?
— Even if I had 48 hours in a day, it still wouldn’t be enough. But we must focus on all components and find time for individual work with each player.
— Guerrero scored again. He looks very strong in pressing. Is that his main advantage?
— No one steps onto the field without understanding the tasks. It’s a team effort, and he executes what we discuss. I won’t compare him to other forwards — each has their strengths and areas for improvement. But even after the first round, I felt that Guerrero is capable of being competitive and scoring.
