Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin will not help the Ukrainian national team in the September matches of the World Cup 2026 qualifiers, as was previously reported.

The goalkeeper felt discomfort in his lower back during warm-up before the Spanish Championship match against Mallorca. Since Lunin did not have enough time to fully recover, the coaching staff of the Ukrainian national team made the decision for the goalkeeper to return to Spain for rehabilitation.
As a reminder, Georgiy Bushchan was called up to the national team instead of Lunin.
