The first opponent of Dmitry Mykhailenko’s team in the tournament was the England team. The match started without a probe. Already in the 4th minute, after a corner from the English, the Ukrainians launched a quick counterattack which ended in a goal, but it was canceled due to offside.
The score was opened in the 10th minute. A prolonged attack by the British on the right flank ended with a cross, which Domchak reacted to, but Mukasa was the first to find the loose ball — 1:0.
After the break, the Ukrainians continued to play as the second team. In the 62nd minute, the high pressing by the English resulted in intercepting the ball near the penalty area. Meuka moved to the right and made an accurate shot from about 17 meters into the lower corner of the goal. 2:0 — this score remained until the final whistle.
The next match for the blue-yellow is on September 6 against the Netherlands (kickoff at 20:00).
