Former defender of Vorskla Ihor Perduta recalled the Ukrainian Cup final of the 2019/2020 season, where Vorskla lost to Dynamo in a penalty shootout.
Ihor Perduta— It was an emotionally very difficult match. We took the lead, but the Kyiv team equalized. Then there was a penalty shootout, where both teams scored five consecutive penalties. It’s a miracle. I thought we would get lucky, but Dynamo turned out to be stronger.
After that match, the entire main squad even went on vacation, even though we still had two matches left. But we had no hopes for the tournament, and Maksymov let us go. He said that we were emotionally drained and that it would not matter for us anymore. We were so exhausted from this final.
