In the 15th minute, after Andrii Hamzyk’s cross from a set piece, Bohdan Levytskyi directed the ball into the Qatari net. However, in the 28th minute, the opponents managed to equalize. Zayed Ktiit fired a powerful shot from a free kick to make it 1:1. Until the end of the half, both teams exchanged sharp attacks but failed to score again.
Immediately after the break, the Ukrainian coach changed the composition almost entirely. The Qatar national team immediately created two excellent chances, but our goalkeeper Oleksandr Stepanov played well. The Ukrainians responded with a dangerous set piece from the left flank. The decisive moment in the match came in the 80th minute. The defenders of the Ukrainian team made a mistake in the central zone, resulting in a victory for Qatar — 2:1.
The next match for the "blue and yellows" in the tournament will be on September 6 against the Poland U-18 team (kick-off — at 16:00).
