Today, the world gained several well-known figures who closely connected their lives with football:
Serhiy KovaletsSerhiy Kovalets (1968) — a former Ukrainian footballer, now a coach. In his time, he played for Kyiv’s “Dynamo,” Lviv’s “Karpaty,” “Dnipro,” and the Dutch “Twente.” Champion and holder of the USSR Cup. Two-time champion and holder of the Cup of Ukraine. He played 10 matches for the Ukrainian national team and did not score any goals. After retiring from football, Kovalets took up coaching.
Serhiy Nagornyak (1971) — a former Ukrainian forward, who worked as an assistant to Myron Markevych at “Dnipro.” He played for several clubs, including “Dnipro” (Dnipropetrovsk), “Shakhtar” (Donetsk), and several teams from China. Nagornyak played 14 matches for the Ukrainian national team and did not score any goals. He is currently the head coach of “Epicenter.”
Oleksandr Sevidov (1921−1992) — a former footballer who played as a forward and later became a football coach. He is known for his work as a coach at Kyiv, Moscow, and Minsk “Dynamo.” As a coach, he became a two-time champion and holder of the USSR Cup. Oleksandr Alexandrovich’s son, Yurii, was also a footballer and coach.
Leonardo (1969) — a former Brazilian footballer who played as a midfielder. World Champion in 1994. He played for the Italian “Milan,” “Valencia,” PSG, and numerous domestic clubs. He played 60 matches for the Brazilian national team and scored 8 goals. After retiring, he became a coach. He managed Milan’s “Inter” and “Milan.” Recently, he worked as a sports director at French PSG. Leonardo is fluent in Portuguese, Italian, English, and French.
