The head coach of Zhytomyr’s Polesie, Ruslan Rotan, spoke about how he envisions the role of the team’s newcomer, midfielder Maksym Bragara, on loan until the end of the season from Kyiv’s Dynamo.
Ruslan Rotan— You have already worked with Maksym in the youth national team. What do you expect from this transfer? What position do you consider to be his main one?
— First of all, we know this player very well; we have worked with him in the youth and Olympic teams. I believe that such a player will add variation for us, primarily because we know that Maksym can cover several positions.
We see him in the winger position, and if necessary — in the defender position, if there is a need for risk, he can also cover that position. In principle, he is a versatile player, and he can play in the "eight," "ten," and "nine" positions.
This is exactly the kind of player who will be very necessary in any team. That’s why we are very happy with this transfer; we are counting on him.
— So you see him more as a universal player rather than focusing on a specific position that needs strengthening?
— No, not at all. We see him more in the winger position because he reveals his qualities better in that position.
If variations are needed, changing some tactical moments in the game, then he is exactly the player who will be very necessary in those tactical moments.
