Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konaté has decided not to extend his contract with the English club, which expires at the end of the season, and intends to join Real Madrid as a free agent, Marca reports.
Ibrahima KonatéThe 26-year-old footballer joined Liverpool in 2021, but has already turned down signing a new deal with the Reds three times. If he transfers, Konaté will become another former Liverpool player who chooses the Madrid club, after Trent Alexander-Arnold.
In a comment to the French program Téléfoot, Konaté admitted that his decision may be influenced by French national team captain Kylian Mbappé. "He calls me every two hours," said the defender.
