Azerbaijan national team defender Tural Bayramov commented on the draw in the match of the 2nd round of the World Cup 2026 qualifying cycle against Ukraine in Baku (1:1).
Tural Bayramov— The situation we found ourselves in was well known to everyone. It was extremely difficult. We lost to Iceland with a very bad score (0:5). Then there were changes in the coaching staff. In short, in the last 3-4 days, everything that could disrupt our game was happening. But we didn’t lose heart. We focused on the positive, with the support of Aykhan Abbasov. No one thought about the score. Our main goal was to fight for our people, for our flag. I think we did everything we could, and sometimes even more than we could. If we improve our game, we can achieve success,’ Bayramov said.
