The head coach of Donetsk “Shakhtar,” Arda Turan, summed up yesterday’s match of his team against Kharkiv “Metalist 1925” (1:1) in the 5th round of the Ukrainian championship.

I hope he returns to the field as soon as possible. He’s a very valuable player and important for the future of Ukraine.
As for us — we played poorly. I don’t think we deserved to win, but it’s completely my responsibility. After the break for national team matches, we couldn’t focus enough and remain true to our principles. Because of this, I’m dissatisfied.
Regarding the referee’s decision — I’m not sure if it’s worth talking about such things in similar situations, but I believe this is a decision that should be embarrassing. Maybe, over dinner, Shevchenko and Rizzoli should ask themselves if they could have done that in Italy. I’ve been at that level in football, and it was a disgraceful decision. But we move on, we do our job. Our task is to improve the game on the field as much as possible. And still, if someone said that goal wasn’t offside, I would understand and accept it. But… I think 100 out of 100 people would call that an offside. I’m seeing this for the first time in my life,” said Turan.
