Former coach of Kharkiv "Metalist 1925" Edmar shared his thoughts on the situation Ukrainian forward Artem Dovbyk of Italian "Roma" finds himself in (in the first two matches of the season, he came on as a substitute late in the game, and in the third match, he stayed on the bench).
Edmar. Photo — FC "Metalist 1925"— You were together with young Dovbyk at "Dnipro". Could you have imagined back then that he would play in top championships?
— You always have to believe. You never know what will happen next. Today you play here, and tomorrow you might go to a top team. When I arrived in Ukraine in 2002, I couldn’t have imagined that I would play for the national team. So, in football life, you always need to believe. Artem has worked a lot on himself. And his career is a very good sign for Ukrainian football in general.
— What should Dovbyk do in such an uncertain situation at "Roma"? Should he leave?
— For him, there will be a team in any case. The main thing is to rightly determine where he will feel more at peace and comfortable. He needs to feel it. Just as he did at "Girona", where he felt good and scored a lot. I believe he needs to calmly weigh everything and understand where he will be more comfortable.
