The Football Federation of Azerbaijan responded to a request from Tribuna.com regarding information in Russian media that it allegedly advocates for the full return of Russian teams to international competitions.
“This information is not true. The UEFA Executive Committee did not contact us asking for our opinion on Russia’s return to European tournaments.
We would also like to note that Azerbaijan is not represented in the UEFA Executive Committee. Such decisions are made at the level of the UEFA Executive Committee, not by UEFA member associations,” said the Football Federation of Azerbaijan.
Russian media reported that this topic was discussed at a meeting of the UEFA committee that took place on September 11 in Tirana, Albania.
