The head coach of Odessa «Chernomorets,» Alexander Kucher, talked about the role of two experienced defenders in his team — Yevgeny Khacheridi and Yaroslav Rakitsky.
Alexander Kucher— Does having such experienced partners as Yaroslav Rakitsky and Yevgeny Khacheridi unite the team?
— Of course. These people are respected in the team. They have gone through a long football journey and are now bringing great benefit to «Chernomorets.» Both play with great desire and give their all in training. Yaroslav and Yevgeny share their experience with younger players, giving important advice here and there. This is a big plus for us.
— Given that Khacheridi is coming on as a substitute, is he still on his way to optimal form?
— Yes. We want to gradually bring him to the proper condition, rather than throwing him straight into the fire. He needs to gain confidence and rediscover forgotten skills, as Khacheridi has not played at a professional level for some time. Now Yevgeny needs to reach the proper condition so that he is fully ready to fulfill his duties on the field. I think you will see him in the starting lineup soon.
