Ukrainian midfielder of Bratislava’s Slovan Danilo Ihnatenko shared how the war has affected him.
Danilo Ihnatenko«The war has greatly impacted me. My dad fought and was severely injured. Grandma and my two grandpas remained in Ukraine and are under shelling every day. It hurts and throws me off balance. Many of my friends and former coaches are in danger now. I think about them every day.
Just like I do about our soldiers, many of whom are boys my age who are sitting in trenches defending the country. This gives me even more motivation to play for them and show that Ukraine is strong and unbreakable,» said Ihnatenko.
