The head coach of «Agrotech», Oleksandr Myzenko, explained what helped his team overcome «Chornomorets» in the penalty shootout (regular time — 1:1, penalties — 5:3) in the 1/16 finals of the Ukrainian Cup.
“I must give credit to my boys, who clearly followed the instructions and, with the support of the fans, deservedly took the lead before halftime. Perhaps, there was some underestimation on the part of the guests, who lacked several prominent players, but that’s their problem.
And although in the second half, the Odesa team had the ball more often, overall, we created more goal-scoring opportunities and were rewarded for our dedication in the penalty shootout. I would like to highlight Pavlo Pastukhov, who opened the scoring and didn’t miss from the penalty spot. Our goalkeeper Dmytro Rudyik was also outstanding in key moments. As our club president Serhii Saus said after the final whistle, “Agrotech” continues to write its history.
Who would I like to meet in the 1/8 finals? We have already played against representatives of the UPL and the First Division. So it would be interesting to host a team from the Second League. To be honest, I really want to stay as long as possible in the cup competition,” said Myzenko.
