UEFA management plans to hold a meeting soon regarding the situation with the possible suspension of Israel due to the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip, reports Independent.
According to the source, if Israeli national teams and clubs are suspended, it could lead to a «geopolitical confrontation» between UEFA and FIFA.
It is claimed that FIFA is highly unlikely to agree to the suspension of Israelis. And if FIFA does not support the hypothetical suspension of Israel, the national team of that country will be able to continue participating in the qualifying tournament for the 2026 World Cup, despite the fact that UEFA is the organizer of this tournament in Europe.
