US President Donald Trump made a loud statement regarding the holding of the 2026 World Cup.
Recently, an event dedicated to the future World Cup took place at the White House. During a conversation with journalists, Donald Trump announced that he does not rule out the possibility of moving matches from one city to another.
“We will make the tournament very safe. But if I consider any city to be dangerous, we will move the matches. If any city could become even slightly dangerous for the World Cup or the 2028 Olympics, we will not allow it. We will change the location. But I hope that does not happen,” Trump stated.
The US President did not clarify what the danger consists of. Journalists asked Trump whether it is related to the protests in Seattle and San Francisco caused by the immigration policy of the current administration.
“They are being run by radical left crazies who don’t know what they are doing. We will take care of security,” Trump replied.
Let us remind you that the World Cup will be held in the USA, Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19. In the USA, 11 cities will host matches — Seattle, New Jersey, Boston, Miami, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Atlanta, San Francisco, and Dallas.
