Today, the world was gifted with several well-known individuals who closely tied their lives to soccer:
Vladimir Troshkin. Photo: V. PerehnyakVladimir Troshkin (1947−2020) — a former footballer who played as a defender and midfielder. During his career, he played for three clubs: Kyiv’s SKA and “Dynamo”, as well as Dnipro’s “Dnipro”. A four-time champion and holder of the USSR Cup. Winner of the Cup Winners' Cup and the UEFA Super Cup. After retiring from playing, he coached teams like SKA (Kyiv), “Avangard” (Rovno), and worked as an assistant coach for the Ukrainian Olympic team.
Vladimir Mazyar (1977) — a former Ukrainian footballer who played as a forward. A product of Lviv football. After successful seasons in the lower leagues of the Ukrainian championship, he caught the attention of scouts from Kyiv’s “Dynamo”. He also played for Poltava’s “Vorskla”, “Dnipro”, and “Stal”. After retiring from playing, he took up coaching.
Dick Advocaat (1947) — a former Dutch footballer, now a football coach. He led the national teams of the Netherlands, UAE, South Korea, and Belgium, as well as various clubs. Throughout Advocaat’s coaching career, there have been a number of situations where he headed a team for just a few months before leaving: he worked with the UAE national team for less than 2 months (July — September 2005), led Borussia Mönchengladbach for 5.5 months (November 2004 — April 2005), the Belgian national team for 6.5 months (October 2009 — April 2010), and the South Korean national team for 9 months (October 2005 — July 2006).
